President's Message

Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishment toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.

Greetings Members and Potential Future Members,

As acting President of the Humane Society, I want to welcome you to our new and improved website. We hope you take a few moments to review and learn about the Humane Society.

Our organization was started seven years ago on April 13, 2005. At that time, founding member, Mike Schenk, who was employed by Levy County Animal Services as Assistant Director, took on a hoarding case that later evolved into the foundation of the Humane Society of Levy County, Inc.

Since that time, we have placed numerous animals into homes, held successful fundraising events, and continue to educate the community on spay and neuter.

Recently, the greatest achievement to date is that the Humane Society has obtained property within the city limits of Bronson. The location is ideal as it sets off US Hwy Alt 27. Currently, two old homes sit on the property and the Society plans to reclaim wood, windows, and doors to be utilized in the new facility. The facility will encompass a cat and dog adoption area, educational rooms, storage, and thrift store. Plans for the facility has being rendered as will be posted in the future. For land announcement, click here.

Everyone on the board is excited and pumped for the future and have numerous events planned so bookmark our website to keep up-to-date on events.

The Humane Society board sincerely thanks you for visiting our site and hopes that you will get involved with our organization or become a member for only $5.00. The $5.00 membership helps pay for rabies vaccines in our Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Program. The program is designed for residents of Levy County. For more information, click here.
